Flaparena

Eight birds auto-race a flap gauntlet, back to back, roughly every 90 seconds. You do not fly the race. You own a bird, or you back one, and the crowd sets the odds.

02 / Loop

How it works

Five steps, then it repeats. Rounds run back to back with no lobby and no matchmaking queue.

Round cadence about 90s
  1. 01

    Connect

Any BNB Smart Chain wallet can bet. A bird is only required to earn the owner cut. Betting and owning are separate roles and you can do either, both, or neither.

  2. 02

    Roll

Mint a Bird. The roll assigns a random class and a random ability, bound to your wallet. Rarity tiers change the ability pool, not the class.

    Common Rare Epic Legendary
  3. 03

    Auto-race

Your bird queues into a nonstop eight-bird gauntlet and flies itself. The owner does nothing during the race. Win, and you take the owner cut of that round's rake, hands-free.

  4. 04

    Bet

Anyone backs any bird before the gate closes, in BNB or $FLAPA. Odds are pari-mutuel: they move as stake arrives and they are final only at the gate.

  5. 05

    Settle

The winning side splits the pot pro-rata to stake. The rake is a flat 10 percent split three ways. If nobody bets, there is no pot, no rake and no payout.

03 / Buffs

The Draft

Six buffs, each derived from exactly one fact that is readable on BNB Smart Chain from FLAPARENA's own contracts. No off-chain reputation, no social scores, no data we cannot prove.

Caps are protocol constants defined in the paper, not measured values. Every input is read from FLAPARENA contracts or the $FLAPA token contract. The paper is the normative source if these differ.
Buff Effect Cap On-chain fact it derives from Read from
Tailwind Speed +8% $FLAPA balance held by the owner wallet at round lock Token balanceOf
Ballast Max stamina +10% Hold streak: blocks elapsed since the wallet's last outgoing $FLAPA transfer Token transfer log
Slipstream Damage reduction +6% Completed arena rounds this bird has been entered into Arena round counter
Quickbeak Reaction +7% Lifetime count of bets the owner wallet has placed Arena bet counter
Updraft Crit and dodge +5% Consecutive winning rounds for this bird, reset to zero on any loss Arena streak counter
Plumage All-round +4% Number of birds the owner wallet currently holds Aviary balanceOf
Why these six

Each buff maps to one measurable statistic and one contract call, so any figure shown against a bird can be recomputed by anyone from public chain state. Inputs are scaled and hard-capped, so the buff layer tilts a race rather than deciding it. A wallet that buys in at the last block cannot outrun the caps.

04 / Economics

The rake

A flat 10 percent of every settled pot, split exactly three ways. Nothing else is taken from a pot. No bets in a round means no rake in that round.

Total rake 10%
Of the rake 90% Winning bettors Paid pro-rata to stake on the winning bird. Your share of the winning side is your share of the payout.
Of the rake 5% Winning bird owner Paid to whoever owns the winning bird, even if that owner never placed a bet in the round. Ownership alone earns it.
Of the rake 5% Buyback and burn Routed through PancakeSwap V2 to buy $FLAPA and send it to the burn address. Every burn is a public transaction.

05 / Roster

The eight classes

Every bird belongs to one of eight classes. The class sets the base stats. A random ability and your wallet history move them from there. Nothing here is decoration: these are the numbers the race actually runs on.

$FLAPA

A BEP-20 token on BNB Smart Chain with a configurable transfer tax under a hard cap written into the contract, and launch limits derived from supply rather than hardcoded.

Tax rates are set by the owner within the contract's hard cap and are shown per asset in the app once deployed. The cap cannot be raised after deployment. Max transaction and max wallet are computed from total supply in the constructor.

08 / Questions

Straight answers

Including the ones that make the product look worse. If something is not built or not verified, it says so.

Do I need a bird to take part?

No. Any BNB Smart Chain wallet can back any bird in the round, and betting is the whole product for most people. Owning a bird only adds one thing: if your bird wins, you take the 5 percent owner cut of that round's rake, whether or not you bet.

How is a race fair if nobody plays it?

Two parts. First, the seed: the arena commits to a hash before betting opens and reveals the preimage after the gate closes, so the seed cannot be chosen once stakes are known. Second, the race: the simulation is deterministic. Given the revealed seed and the entrant list, every client computes the identical race, frame for frame.

That means the result is reproducible by anyone from public data.

What can the owner keys do?

Set the buy and sell tax within the hard cap fixed at deployment, whitelist or remove pay tokens in the registry, set the addresses that receive the burn and owner shares, mark AMM pairs, and pause new rounds.

They cannot mint new $FLAPA, cannot raise the tax cap, and cannot take a stake that has already been placed on a round.

What happens if nobody bets on a round?

Nothing is taken. No pot means no rake, so no bettor payout, no owner cut and no burn for that round. The race still runs and still records a winner, but the economics for that round are zero across the board.

Can The Draft be farmed?

Partly, by design. Holding more $FLAPA, holding it longer, entering more rounds and betting more often all raise your buffs, and all of those are things the protocol wants. What stops it mattering too much is the caps: the six buffs top out at a few percent each and are scaled sub-linearly, so a large wallet gets a nudge, not a guaranteed win.

Every input is read on-chain at round lock, so a wallet cannot claim a hold streak it does not have.

Which assets can I bet in?

BNB and $FLAPA at launch. The arena settles per pay token, so a round's pool is denominated in whatever asset the bet was placed in and pays out in the same asset. Additional assets can be added through the pay-token registry, which is an owner-controlled whitelist.

The arena view runs the current round and the live board. The aviary is where a roll happens. Neither can transact until the contracts are deployed.
